The Dassault Falcon Service terminal at Paris–Le Bourget

Why it is on the list

Dassault Falcon Service belongs wholly to Dassault Aviation, the maker of the Falcon jets, and has been at Le Bourget since 1975; on the airfield it has 640 staff, seven hangars and 100,000 m².¹ Its handling terminal takes every type of aircraft up to a BBJ, not only Falcons, and maintenance can be done on the spot during the stop.² Passengers wait in a lounge that looks over the tarmac towards the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur, and on landing the car is a few metres from the aircraft.²

It is the wrong choice for a scheduled flight: Le Bourget has taken no airline traffic since 1980 and serves business aviation only, so a commercial arrival goes through Charles de Gaulle or Orly.³ The Jetex and Signature terminals on the same airfield are the other choices.

How to get it

The operator or the passenger's office writes to the handling desk at handling@dassault-falcon.com or calls +33 1 49 34 20 28.² The desk prepares the stop for passengers and crew, loads the baggage, refuels and cleans the aircraft, and orders catering from Paris caterers.² It also books restaurants, hotel rooms and meeting rooms, hires cars with drivers, and arranges flowers and pressing at any hour.² The switchboard is +33 1 49 34 20 20.⁴

Discretion

The site is secured under airport rules, and trips to sensitive destinations can be accompanied by the Dassault group's own security unit.² The terminal has private parking, and the car waits a few metres from the aircraft.² The airport has no airline passengers.³
