Why it is worth going

Varo (1908-1963) left a small body of work, and buyers waited on a list for her paintings; this is the first major museum survey of it in Europe.¹ More than 70 works cover her years in Barcelona and Paris and her most productive period in Mexico in the 1950s and early 1960s, with loans from museums in Mexico and the United States and pictures from private collections that are rarely shown, alongside drawings and notebooks.¹ Louisiana organised it with Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the Mexican surrealism scholar Tere Arcq.¹ Direct trains from Copenhagen Central Station reach Humlebæk in about 40 minutes, and the museum is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the station.² The museum stays open until 22 from Tuesday to Friday.³
