Bernar Venet: Sculptures, Furniture and Works on Paper

Why it is worth going

The show brings three strands of Venet's work into one gallery: sculpture in steel, the furniture that turns the geometry of those sculptures into pieces for use, and works on paper that set out the reasoning beneath both.¹ Venet, born in 1941, is best known for the Corten steel Arcs, Angles and Indeterminate Lines he has made since 1979.² Twelve Indeterminate Lines stood on the Champ de Mars in Paris in 1994, he showed monumental sculpture alone at the Château de Versailles in 2011, and his largest retrospective opened at Kunsthalle Berlin in Tempelhof Airport in 2022.² The gallery is the Dubai space of Stéphane Custot, director of Waddington Custot in London.³
