Why it is worth going

Pina Bausch's The Rite of Spring, made in 1975 for the Tanztheater Wuppertal, is danced at La Scala for the first time, in a new production made with the Pina Bausch Foundation.1 It is paired with Balanchine's Apollo, the 1928 ballet that began his partnership with Stravinsky.1 Roberto Bolle, étoile, dances Apollo on five of the evenings, the premiere among them.1 Ido Arad conducts the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra.1
