Why it is worth going
Faust returns to La Scala for the first time since 2010, in a new production shared with Valencia's Palau de les Arts, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and the Teatro Real in Madrid.1 Daniele Rustioni conducts the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and Chorus, his first evening in the pit here since Il trovatore in 2014.1 Johannes Erath directs at La Scala for the first time; his Ermione at the 2024 Rossini Festival won the Abbiati Prize for best production.1 Marina Rebeka sings Marguerite on six of the seven nights, Vittorio Grigolo is Faust on 20, 24 and 27 October and 3 and 8 November, and Alex Esposito sings Méphistophélès throughout.1
