Clinica San Martino is a private clinic in Malgrate, near Lecco, with specialist outpatient clinics, its own operating block for admissions and day surgery, and an imaging department.1 Its home-medicine service runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.2 In Milan a first triage by phone is followed by a registered doctor at the door, four times out of five in under an hour, day and night, holidays included.3 A paediatrician comes on the same terms, and a cardiologist can record an ECG at the bedside.3 The doctor leaves a digital report and can prescribe medicines, tests and certificates.3
The service covers the centre of Milan, Sesto San Giovanni, Cinisello Balsamo, Assago and Rozzano.3 For planned care or a stay in hospital, the International Department at Humanitas is the better call.
How to get it

Discretion
The doctor comes to the patient, so there is no waiting room and no queue in casualty.3 Reports are sent in digital form and the patient's data are kept private; payment is by card at the visit.3
