Why it is worth going

It is the first major showing of either artist in New York in more than twenty years, and the first to set the full arc of both careers together, across more than 120 works.1 Krasner and Pollock met in New York in the winter of 1941, married in 1945 and worked side by side in Springs, Long Island, until his death in 1956.1 The show follows her Brooklyn upbringing and his in the American West into Abstract Expressionism: his drip paintings of a short, prolific run, and her decades of work on abstraction, nature and colour.1 The subtitle is taken from a Krasner painting of 1976, and the catalogue is supported by the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.1
