Why it is worth going
Lisette Oropesa opens the Accademia di Santa Cecilia's 2026/27 chamber season, and this year the opening moves to the Teatro dell'Opera, a joint evening of the city's two musical institutions.1 It is her only recital stop in Italy.1 The programme, Mis amores son canciones, sets zarzuela numbers by Barbieri and Chapí beside Falla's Siete canciones populares españolas, Granados's Canciones amatorias, Rodrigo's Cuatro madrigales amatorios and Nin's Cantos populares españoles.1 It ends in Cuba, with songs by Lecuona, Sánchez de Fuentes, Anckermann and Roig.1 Alessandro Praticò accompanies her and plays Turina's The Circus as a solo.1
