Why it is worth going

The festival runs thirteen days at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, whose screening rooms carry the main programme, with the red carpet laid along the avenue to the Cavea.1 Javier Bardem receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from Paolo Sorrentino and presents Rodrigo Sorogoyen's El ser querido, shown in the Best of 2026 section.2 The 2026 programme opens with Paolo Genovese's Il rumore delle cose nuove and includes Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun with Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega, Anton Corbijn's A Talent for Murder with Helen Mirren, Simon Stone's Elsinore with Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman, and a restored La battaglia di Algeri sixty years after its Golden Lion.3
