Why it is on the list

Kevin Seah began as an apprentice tailor at 17 and worked at the bench for more than twenty years before founding his own house for bespoke and made-to-measure menswear in 2009.¹ A bespoke jacket starts from a pattern drafted from scratch for the client and cut to that body, and takes at least 70 hours of handwork.² Cloth comes largely from English and Italian mills, and buttons, linings and even the cloth itself can be commissioned.² The pattern stays in the house's records, so later orders can be placed without starting again.²

It is the wrong call for a suit needed this week: bespoke takes 12 to 14 weeks and two or three fittings, and the house's made-to-measure line still takes 10 to 12.²

Write to info@kevinseah.com or call +65 8903 3270 for an appointment; the atelier opens Tuesday to Friday from 12pm to 7pm and Saturday from 12pm to 5pm, and is closed Sunday, Monday and public holidays.³ Ask for a bespoke suit; the first meeting goes through cloth and design, and fittings follow over the next three months.² A bespoke jacket is from S$5,800 and trousers from S$1,000, before GST.² Bespoke shirts are from S$650, take 4 to 8 weeks with two fittings, and a first order is at least three shirts.²

Discretion

The atelier receives clients by appointment only, so a fitting is not shared with walk-in customers.⁴³
