Dee Dee Bridgewater is an NEA Jazz Master with several Grammy Awards and a Tony Award, the last for Glinda in The Wiz in 1975.¹ She started with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band and played with Sonny Rollins and Dizzy Gillespie; her records include Dear Ella and the Grammy-winning Eleanora Fagan (1915-1959): To Billie With Love From Dee Dee Bridgewater.¹ This is her first Singapore concert in more than a decade, a duo with Helen Sung, a 2021 Guggenheim Fellow and graduate of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance.¹ The Recital Studio is the centre's small room for chamber music and acoustic performances.²
