Why it is worth going
Hannu Lintu, the orchestra's Music Director, conducts two evenings built around Sibelius's Violin Concerto.1 The soloist is the South Korean violinist Inmo Yang, first prize winner at the 2015 Paganini Competition and the 2022 Jean Sibelius Violin Competition.1 The programme opens with the Singapore premiere of Lera Auerbach's Icarus; after the interval come Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture and Scriabin's The Poem of Ecstasy.1 The Concert Hall is known for its acoustics.2
