The private Safari Adventure Tour at Night Safari

Why it is on the list

Night Safari opened in 1994 as the world's first nocturnal zoo: 35 hectares of secondary rainforest in Mandai, beside Upper Seletar Reservoir, with more than 900 animals of over 100 species.¹ The Private Experience takes one party through it on its own buggy with its own guide, and adds what the ordinary evening does not: a mocktail at Ulu Ulu, reserved seats at Creatures of the Night, a rhino feeding and a feeding session with the Asian elephants.²

It is the wrong choice for guests with limited mobility or in wheelchairs, who cannot join, and for children under 1.2m, who cannot take part in the rhino feeding.² The tour runs only in English.²

How to get it

Book the Private Experience on the Safari Adventure Tour page, or write to tours@mandai.com.² It runs daily from 7pm to 9.30pm; meet the guide at the Mandai Lounge, beside Food Republic at Mandai Wildlife East, at 6.45pm.² The Private Experience is S$750, park admission not included, and prices vary between weekdays, weekends and public holidays.² Once bought it cannot be refunded, cancelled or changed, and the end time is not extended for a late arrival; weather or an animal's health can alter or cancel the tour.² A child under three rides free with a paying adult, but say so by email when booking to keep a seat.²

Discretion

The buggy and the guide are the party's alone; only the Join a Group version of the tour takes other guests.² Photographs are allowed only at the park's authorised photography areas.² The park is open to the public every evening from 6pm to midnight, so the paths around the buggy are shared.³
