The Aman Suite at Aman Tokyo

Why it is on the list

Aman Tokyo takes the top floors of the Otemachi Tower, a short walk from the Imperial Palace gardens and connected to Otemachi station.¹² Kerry Hill designed the interiors in cypress, basalt and washi, and the hotel holds the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating.³ The Aman Suites are its largest rooms at 157 m², set on the northwest corner so the windows take in the palace gardens, the towers of Shinjuku and, on clear days, Mount Fuji.⁴ There is a separate living room with a daybed and a dining table for six, a king bedroom, a powder room, a desk that closes off behind a sliding door, and a stone furo bath behind shoji screens facing the same view.⁴

For the highest floor rather than the most space, ask for a Garden View Suite: 71 m² on the 38th floor, facing the palace gardens.⁴ The Grand Suites, at 141 m², are the next largest.⁴

Discretion

The hotel sits on the top six floors of a 38-storey office tower, reached from the street or directly from the Otemachi subway station below.²¹ Inside the suite the workspace closes behind a sliding pocket door, and the dining table seats six, so a meeting or dinner can stay in the room.⁴
