A private doctor who comes to your hotel room in Copenhagen, every day from 8 am to midnight, bringing common medicines and taking blood samples on the spot.

Why it is on the list

Privatlægen has sent doctors to homes in Copenhagen since 2006, and today it visits hotels and cruise ships as well.12 The doctor answers the phone, and the doctor you spoke to is the one who comes; afterwards you can call back with questions about the treatment.2 The doctor carries the common medicines, can take blood samples on the spot and refers on for fast further examination.3

It is the wrong choice between midnight and 8 am, when the service is closed.4

How to get it

Call +45 60 75 40 70 between 8 am and midnight; a doctor answers.2 Do not write when it is urgent: e-mails to info@privatlaegen.dk are answered within 24 hours.5 A visit costs DKK 2,000 to 3,200 depending on the postcode, with travel, consultation and any acute medicine included;6 a referral to a specialist or private hospital adds DKK 800 and a medical report for the insurer is DKK 800.7 Pay in cash or by MobilePay.7 Travel insurance often covers the visit, either afterwards or through a guarantee of payment the insurer sends before the visit.7

Discretion

The doctor comes to you, so there is no clinic and no waiting time.3 One doctor handles the call from the first phone call to the visit.2
