The Royal Suite at d'Angleterre

Why it is on the list

The hotel names it its grandest suite; it has its own outdoor balcony facing Kongens Nytorv.¹² At 150 m² it can be opened onto the rest of the first floor on the square side, to 250 m² or a whole 400 m² floor.² The bathroom is marble, with a bath, a separate shower and a guest toilet; an airport limousine transfer and the minibar are included.² The hotel has stood on the square since the middle of the 1700s and holds 92 rooms, 55 of them suites.¹

It is the wrong choice for a family or a group: it sleeps two adults, with one extra bed on request.²

How to get it

Book through room reservations, on +45 33 12 00 95 or room@dangleterre.com, and ask for the Royal Suite by name; say at booking if you want it joined with the rest of the first floor.³² A credit card guarantees the booking; at check-in the hotel holds the full stay plus 15 percent, against a physical card in the main guest's name and matching photo identification.¹ Cancellation is free up to four days before arrival in high season and 48 hours in low season.¹ Car transfers go through the concierge, concierge@dangleterre.com, at least 24 hours before arrival; butler service is arranged on request in advance.¹³ Check-in is from 15:00, check-out at 12:00.¹

Discretion

Bellhosts meet cars at the door, take the luggage and park the car, and the airport transfer by hotel limousine is part of the suite.¹² The hotel counts royalty and well-known names among its guests, and the building is busy below: Marchal spills onto the square in good weather and Balthazar has DJs at weekends.¹
