The yacht berth at Amaliehaven

Why it is on the list

At Amaliehaven, on Larsens Plads, a yacht longer than 25 metres can reserve a quay berth; the port takes no reservations for boats under 25 metres.¹ The quay runs along the public garden between Amalienborg Palace and the waterfront, in Frederiksstaden.² The quay has 32 A power and water connections, C-coupling, at five points along it.¹

For a boat under 25 metres there is no reservation: take a guest berth in Nyhavn or at Ofelia Plads and pay the harbour fee at the machine on arrival.¹ A yacht of 50 metres or more needs the harbour authority's permission before entering the side channels and basins.³

How to get it

Write to the Port of Copenhagen at cphport@byoghavn.dk, or call +45 40 42 39 77 on weekdays from 07:00 to 14:00, and send the completed pre-arrival form with the request.¹ Below 500 GT the port fee runs by length, from DKK 872 a night for 25 to 30 metres to DKK 2,000 for 55 to 60 metres; above 500 GT it is DKK 3.60 per GT a night, all plus 25% VAT.⁴ Fresh water is DKK 49 per m³, five m³ at least, plus a DKK 410 connection fee; anything the port arranges carries a 15% administration fee, and service outside Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:00 and Friday 07:00 to 14:30 costs DKK 745 an hour.⁴

Discretion

The quay runs along a public park in front of Amalienborg Palace, so a yacht here is in plain view from the garden.² Any vessel of 15 metres or more must run an AIS transponder while under way in the harbour.³
