Sotheby's was founded in London in 1744 and is one of the oldest and largest brokers of fine and decorative art, jewellery and collectibles, with 80 locations in 40 countries.1 The Dubai gallery holds selling and non-selling exhibitions through the year, and specialists in jewellery, watches and cars work from the city.2 The house also sells in Dubai by private sale, outside any auction.3

How to get it
Write to dubai@sothebys.com and say what you want to see or sell, and which department: jewellery, watches, fine art, handbags or cars.2 Specialist appointments are given on request; the gallery keeps hours from Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00.2 Pieces on private sale are listed online with an enquiry button, and prices exclude taxes and duty.3 Cars go to Dwayne Marc Fernandes at dfernandes@rmsothebys.com.2
Discretion
In a Sotheby's private sale neither the buyer nor the consignor is named, and the piece changes hands privately rather than at public auction.1 The gallery is in Gate Village, inside the Dubai International Financial Centre.2
