The Apartment at The Connaught

Why it is on the list

The Apartment sits above The Connaught: 285 sq m under a double-height ceiling with a fireplace, two bedrooms, two balconies over Carlos Place, and sleeping up to five.¹ David Collins Studio designed it; the main bedroom has a four-poster and a large dressing room, and the dining room seats eight, with a Connaught chef and barman on request working from a butler's pantry.¹ It can be extended through connecting rooms to three bedrooms, or to a wing of nine by taking the whole sixth floor.¹ A butler is on call around the clock, and guests use the hotel's Aman Spa, the only one outside an Aman resort, with its pool and steam room.¹

It is the wrong choice for anyone who wants to come and go without crossing the hotel. The Mews, on Adams Row, is a three-level townhouse of 225 sq m with its own street door and a corridor into The Connaught.²

Discretion

Guests landing at the private jet terminals of Luton, Stansted, Farnborough or Biggin Hill fly by Sikorsky S-76 to the London Heliport in Battersea, where a hotel car takes them to The Connaught.³ With a dining room for eight and a chef and barman on request, dinner can stay upstairs; taking the whole sixth floor leaves no neighbours on it.¹
