The Jet Aviation terminal at Teterboro

Why it is on the list

Teterboro is the oldest operating airport in the New York area, 12 miles from Midtown Manhattan, and Jet Aviation has run its terminal there since 1988.¹ The desk is staffed 24 hours, seven days a week, handles domestic and international flights, and US Customs sits on the terminal's ramp, with staff to walk passengers to it.¹² Entry to the airport and the ramp is guarded.¹ Nine heated hangars cover 260,000 sq ft; the refurbished one takes aircraft up to a Gulfstream G650 or a Global 7500 overnight.¹ The terminal also arranges passenger and crew transport, helicopter charter support, hotels, catering and concierge requests, and the operation is IS-BAH Stage 2 registered.¹

It is the wrong airport for a heavy jet: no aircraft may weigh more than 100,000 lb on any paved surface at Teterboro.³ It is also busy, with around 500 take-offs and landings a day.¹ The guide's other private terminal is the Million Air terminal at Westchester, north of the city.

How to get it

Book the handling through the terminal's reservation form, which takes a guest booking without an account, or through the ground handling request on the terminal's page, or call +1 201 462 4000 or write to tebfbo@jetaviation.com with the aircraft model, tail number, call sign, where it arrives from and departs to, and the arrival date and time; the form lets you tick fuel, cleaning, hangar, catering, accommodation and transport for passengers and crew.¹⁴ Helicopter charter support and hotel bookings are arranged by the same desk.¹ Rental cars from Hertz, Avis and Go Rentals are on site but booked with the companies themselves.¹

Book at least 48 hours ahead.² Under a temporary rule the terminal still posted on 5 November 2026, every arrival needs a Prior Permission Required number before it enters the ramp, and one accepted with less than 48 hours' notice pays a USD 7,500 non-reservation arrival fee.² A departure held up by late passengers costs USD 2,500 an hour, and a USD 1,750 event fee applies during New York Fashion Week and the United Nations General Assembly, both in September.² The security fee for a Jet A aircraft is USD 175, ground power USD 150 an hour, and lavatory service and potable water USD 150 each.² Customs outside its hours needs at least 24 hours' notice, is subject to approval and costs USD 1,150 more; the customs office takes arrangements on +1 201 393 6936 or +1 201 288 8919, or through e-APIS.²

On 5 November 2026 Jet A was listed at USD 10.62 a gallon for under 300 gallons, USD 10.37 from 300, USD 9.92 from 800, USD 9.57 from 1,100 and USD 9.37 from 2,100, and SAF at USD 12.46 a gallon, taxes and fees included and subject to change without notice.¹ Neither the handling fee nor a cancellation rule is published: write to tebfbo@jetaviation.com for the fee for the aircraft type, whether fuel uplift reduces it, and what a cancelled arrival costs.

Discretion

Entry to the airport and the ramp is guarded, security is on duty 24 hours, and the terminal is TSA compliant.¹ The terminal has an executive lounge, executive conference rooms with a business center, and a separate crew lounge and snooze room; the field handles around 500 take-offs and landings a day.¹ Customs is on the terminal's own ramp, and staff escort passengers to the office.² To keep a conference room for one party, ask tebfbo@jetaviation.com when booking the handling whether it can be held and what it costs.
