The Million Air terminal at Westchester

Why it is on the list

Westchester County Airport is the private-jet airport on the north side of New York, about 33 miles from Midtown, with a 6,549 ft main runway.¹ Million Air opened its terminal there in February 2019: 22,000 sq ft of lounges with stone fireplaces and a coffee bar, a 50,400 sq ft hangar with heated floors high enough for a Gulfstream G650, and a rebuilt ramp.² It is open around the clock, and the line crew brings the aircraft over from customs at no charge.³

It is the wrong airport for someone staying in Midtown or downtown: Teterboro is 12 miles from Manhattan, and the Jet Aviation terminal there is closer.⁴ Westchester also asks operators not to fly in or out between midnight and 6:30 am.¹

How to get it

Call the terminal on +1 914 946 0100 or write to info.hpn@millionair.com with the tail number, the arrival time and whether the flight comes from abroad; the desk is staffed 24 hours.³ Ask at the same time for hangar space overnight, a rental car from the Hertz desk on site, or the concierge to arrange onward plans.³ A late-night arrival falls inside the airport's voluntary quiet hours, midnight to 6:30 am, so plan the slot with the crew.¹

Discretion

Cars drive into an enclosed valet hall of 6,865 sq ft inside the building, so passengers get in and out of the car out of sight and out of the weather.² The terminal serves private flights only; the airline terminal is a separate building.³¹
