Why it is on the list

The suite is on the top floor of Prince Roland Bonaparte's former house on the avenue d'Iéna, now a hotel with Palace distinction and Monument Historique status.¹² It runs to 120 sqm: one bedroom with a king-size bed, a walk-in dressing room, a living and dining room that seats 8, a kitchenette and a guest washroom.³ The furnished terrace is 100 sqm and looks across the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais and Sacré-Coeur.³ It is one of four Signature suites in the house.²

It sleeps two adults, with an extra bed for a child up to 14.³ A family or a party needs the whole floor, which the hotel lets as a four-bedroom apartment of 500 sqm.³ For the prince's own rooms rather than the view, L'Appartement Prince Bonaparte on the second floor has 315 sqm, 5-metre ceilings and two bedrooms, but its balconies face the avenue and the Guimet Museum, not the tower.⁴

Call the hotel on +33 1 53 67 19 98 or write to paris@shangri-la.com and ask for La Suite Shangri-La by name.⁵ To have the floor to yourselves, ask for the whole top floor as a four-bedroom apartment.³ The stay includes a return transfer in a Mercedes S-Class with a meet and greet; give the flight details and arrival time when booking.³⁵ The hotel is 45 minutes from Charles de Gaulle and 30 minutes from Orly.⁵

Discretion

The suite shares the top floor with other rooms; taking the whole floor with it leaves no neighbours on the level.³ Guests arrive in the hotel's own car from the airport rather than by taxi.³⁵
