Why it is on the list

The George V opened in 1928 on the avenue of that name, in a building by Georges Wybo, and has been run by Four Seasons since it reopened in 1999.12 Pierre-Yves Rochon redesigned all its rooms and suites over three years, and the Michelin Guide holds the hotel at three Keys, its highest hotel rank.3 Le Cinq, in the same house, has three Michelin stars.2

Of the 60 suites, this is the one named for its view. It is on the seventh floor. A wrought-iron terrace runs around part of it, and every room has tall French windows onto the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides and the roofs of the city.4 The Rotunda, a round lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, looks straight at the tower.4 The interiors are Rochon's, in white and ivory, with a brass engraving by Valérie Boy.4

It suits two, or a family once the second bedroom is joined to it.4 For more bedrooms on one floor, look at Les Grands Appartements at Hôtel de Crillon or La Suite Shangri-La at Shangri-La Paris.

How to get it

Book through the hotel's own site and ask for the Eiffel Tower Suite by name.2 For a family, ask at the same time for the second bedroom: a door by the lounge and library joins it to the suite, with its own bathroom, but only on request.4

Discretion

The suite is on the seventh of the building's eight floors.42 With the second bedroom joined, a family or a small party keeps both rooms behind the suite's own door.4
