The Serapong at Sentosa Golf Club

Why it is on the list

The Serapong is a par 72 of 6,765 metres from the championship tees, laid along the sea channel and a tidal lagoon, with the Central Business District in view from the second tee and the port from the fifth green.¹ It has hosted the Singapore Open since 2005, most recently in 2026.¹² At the 2023 World Golf Awards it was named World's Best Golf Course, after taking the Asia and Singapore titles in 2022.³ The club is about 15 minutes from the central business district.⁴

It is the wrong choice for a player without an official handicap: every player needs a USGA index below 36.6 for men and 40.4 for women.⁵ For that player, a two-hour bay on the club's driving range is open to non-members from 7am to 7pm.⁵ The club's second course, The Tanjong, runs along the Singapore Strait with large sand-belt bunkers, at the same green fees.⁶⁵

How to get it

Book a tee time through the club's booking enquiry, by email to sgc_golf@sentosagolf.com, or by phone on +65 6275 0022, and ask for The Serapong.⁵⁴ Visitors pay SGD 420 a player on weekdays and SGD 550 on weekends and public holidays, plus SGD 40 for a buggy, before GST.⁵ Weekday flights take up to seven guests; on weekends and holidays the limit is one.⁵ Advance payment is forfeited for a cancellation less than 72 hours before a weekday round or seven days before a weekend or holiday round, and for a no-show.⁵ Report to the starter at least 10 minutes before tee-off; a round is paced at no more than 4 hours 30 minutes, and there is no rain-check or refund once play has started.⁵ Clubs rent for SGD 100 a set and shoes for SGD 30 a pair.⁵

Discretion

No followers are allowed on the course, and the club may fill open slots in a flight with other players unless the whole flight is booked.⁵ In Singapore Open week the ninth hole is lined with hospitality marquees and crowds.¹
