Why it is on the list

Palace Hotel Tokyo faces the moat of the Imperial Palace from Marunouchi. It first opened in 1961 and was rebuilt as a 23-storey tower in 2012, and it holds the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating.¹ The Palace Suite is its largest room: 210 to 250 m² on the 18th floor, looking over Wadakura Fountain Park and the Imperial Palace Plaza.² It has a formal dining table, a service kitchen with a separate entrance, a dressing room, and a marble bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a jetted tub at the window.² A Club Deluxe King room with its own door and balcony connects to make a second bedroom.²

How to get it

Write to reservations on reservations@palacehotel.jp and ask for the Palace Suite by name.² Say whether you want one bedroom or two, since the connecting Club Deluxe King room has to be asked for.² The main bedroom has two large twin beds that can be put together as a king; the connecting room has a king.² The switchboard is +81 3 3211 5211.² Suite guests use the 19th-floor Club Lounge, open 7:00 to 22:00, with breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks included; children under 13 may use it until 17:30.³

Discretion

Check-in and check-out happen in the Club Lounge on the 19th floor rather than at the lobby desk, and the lounge has a private meeting room for up to six.³ The suite and its connecting room are joined through an inner corridor, laid out for security and private use, and the service kitchen has its own entrance.⁴² Suite guests park free when they drive themselves.³
