The Jetex terminal at Al Maktoum

Why it is on the list

Al Maktoum International, also called Dubai World Central, lies 37 km southwest of the city in Jebel Ali and has a 4,500 m runway.¹ Jetex runs its flagship terminal there around the clock: aircraft park in front of the building with direct ramp access, customs and immigration are cleared inside, and passengers go to and from the aircraft airside by Rolls-Royce.² The terminal was named FBO of the Year at the Aviation Business Awards two years running, the second in 2018, and holds IS-BAH Stage 2 and NATA Safety 1st certification.²

It is the wrong choice for a scheduled flight: Emirates and flydubai operate from Dubai International, and their move to Al Maktoum waits on the new passenger terminal.¹

How to get it

The operator or the passenger's office writes to fbo-dwc@jetex.com or calls +971 4 212 4900; handling and slots are both mandatory at DWC, so the flight needs a handler and a slot before it leaves.² Jetex arranges entry and landing permits, the flight plan, fuel, catering, hangar space, crew hotels and cars for passengers and crew.² Inside are an executive lounge, meeting rooms, a crew lounge and showers, and the concierge takes requests for the stay.²

Discretion

Customs and immigration are cleared in the terminal, the aircraft parks at its door, and the car waits in the terminal's private parking.² Security is provided on request.²
