Why it is on the list

Clay Lacy started the first jet charter company west of the Mississippi in 1968, and in 1981 opened the first all-jet FBO at its Van Nuys headquarters.¹ The site doubled in 1984 and was rebuilt in 2015 in a USD 10 million, six-acre redevelopment.¹ Arriving from abroad, the jet clears U.S. Customs here; aircraft are guarded around the clock, and passengers board and leave the aircraft in private areas.² A repair station on the field works 24 hours for an aircraft that cannot leave.³

It is a terminal for private aircraft. For an airline arrival at LAX, PS runs its own terminal at 6875 W Imperial Hwy.⁴

How to get it

Call the front desk on +1 818 989 2900, or book the arrival through the terminal's reservation page; the desk is open 24 hours.³ Published ramp fees run from USD 125 to USD 850 a visit by aircraft size (USD 1,600 for an airliner), plus a facility fee and a USD 60 security fee. Movements between 23:00 and 07:00 carry a USD 250 quiet-hour fee, and the airport asks operators not to fly then.³

Discretion

Passengers board and leave the aircraft in private areas, clear U.S. Customs at the terminal rather than in a public hall, and the aircraft stays guarded around the clock.²
