Why it is on the list

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore opened in 1987 in a John Portman building on Marina Bay and reopened in 2023 after a renovation.¹ Of its 510 rooms, two are signature suites, and the Royal Marina Bay Penthouse is the larger: 294 m² on the uppermost floor, facing the bay and the sea.²³ It has a private balcony, a living room, a hot tub, a dining room that seats ten and a full chef's kitchen, so a dinner for the table can be cooked in the suite.³ With its connecting rooms opened it becomes a four-bedroom suite of 393 m².⁴

It is the wrong room for someone who wants a historic building: for that, take the Sarkies Suite at Raffles. For a smaller party the hotel's other signature suite, the Presidential Suite, has the same bay view, a balcony and a hot tub in 178 m², with a dining room for eight.⁵

Call reservations on +65 6885 3030 or write to mosin-reservations@mohg.com and ask for the Royal Marina Bay Penthouse by name; for a family or a larger party, ask for the four-bedroom configuration, 393 m², with the connecting rooms.²⁴ A stay in the suite includes the HAUS 65 club lounge on the 21st floor: breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 am, afternoon tea from 2 to 4 pm and drinks until 11 pm; the lounge takes guests over 12 only and asks for smart casual dress.⁶³ Changi is about twenty minutes by car.²

Discretion

The suite is on the uppermost floor, with its own balcony, hot tub and a chef's kitchen, so dinner for up to ten can be served in the suite rather than in a restaurant downstairs.³ The club lounge's staff, the M.O. Curators, handle requests and arrangements for suite guests.⁶
