Why it is on the list
At Haneda, the business aviation gate is at Terminal 3; Terminals 1 and 2 have none.1 The gate has its own check-in counter, lounge, security checkpoint, customs, immigration and quarantine, a private driveway and parking, and it runs 24 hours.2 Passengers keep to a corridor of their own from car to aircraft, which cuts the time at immigration and keeps them out of the public halls.12
The gate is for business aviation only, so it is the wrong choice on a scheduled flight.1
How to get it
The gate is used through a ground handler; the terminal lists twelve at Terminal 3, among them JAL Business Aviation, ANA, Universal Aviation and Japan Aviation Service.1 JAL Business Aviation's ground handling desk answers on +81 3 5460 5868 and at jalba@jal.com, weekdays 9:30 to 17:00; it also arranges the charter itself, paid in full in advance.13 The gate charges JPY 400,000 before tax per arrival or departure for up to 20 people, and JPY 20,000 for each person beyond that; a waiting room during a technical stop is JPY 300,000 per flight.2
Discretion
Cars pull up under the gate's own porte-cochère and wait in its own parking, and passengers pass security and immigration in private rooms rather than the public terminal.12 There is no check-in queue; the handler's staff escort passengers through.3
