Why it is on the list

The Club Salotto is a closed compartment inside Club Executive, Italo's first class, for up to four people: one traveller alone, a family or colleagues who want to talk.¹ It carries everything in Club Executive: leather armchairs in an interior by Giugiaro Design, Italian food and drinks served at the seat, prosecco and beer at lunch and dinner, and Wi-Fi.¹ From Rome the train reaches Naples in one hour, Florence in 1 hour 30 minutes and Venice in four.¹

For a flight rather than a train, use Signature Rome at Ciampino.

How to get it

Book a Club Executive ticket in the Salotto on the Italo site or through Italo Assistance on +39 06 89371892, daily from 6am to 11pm; from an Italian phone the number is 892020.²¹ At Roma Termini the Italo Club Lounge is open from 6.20am to 8.55pm and lets Club Executive passengers in from 90 minutes before departure; show the ticket at the door.³ Go to the train through the Fast Track on platform 12; a companion and minor children with a valid ticket may pass with you.³ On a Flex fare, a missed train leaves one hour of Extra Time to be moved to the next one by Italo staff at the station or by phone, subject to seats.⁴

The Salotto is a closed compartment and holds four at most.¹ Before the train, the Italo Club Lounge at Roma Termini is open to Club Executive passengers, some Italo Più card holders and those who buy entry, and is staffed by Italo.³ The Fast Track on platform 12 is open only to certain tickets, lounge guests and card holders.³
