The gourmet menu in a salon at Dragsholm Slot

Why it is on the list

Dragsholm Slot Gourmet has held a Michelin star since 2017 and keeps it in the 2026 selection.¹ The kitchen cooks vegetables and herbs from Lammefjorden, the land around the castle, and changes the menu often.² On request the same menu leaves the vaulted cellar dining room and is served in a room joined to the restaurant or in one of the castle's salons; the house calls this dinner Gæstebud.²³ The castle was first built around 1215 and made a four-winged fortress in the following centuries; today it is a hotel of 41 rooms with its own chapel.⁴⁵

It is the wrong choice when the evening has to end in the city: the drive is about an hour each way.³ For a private room at a Copenhagen table, take the private dining room at AOC instead. It is also wrong for a guest who needs single courses changed: the kitchen does not serve the full menu with elements left out.²

Write to info@dragsholm-slot.dk or call +45 59 65 33 00; the booking desk answers Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.⁶ Ask for the gourmet menu served privately in a salon, and name the number of guests: the gray room seats eight at one long table, the room of the Baroness sixteen, the Rose hall twelve.³ The restaurant serves from 18:00 Thursday to Saturday, Tuesday to Friday in July and August, and is closed in January.⁶ The gourmet menu is from DKK 2,200.²

Smaller groups can be arranged at shorter notice; the castle asks three to six months for larger events.⁷ Allergies and dietary needs go in writing at least 48 hours ahead; anything not confirmed in writing costs DKK 499 a guest, and there is no vegan menu.² When the rooms are full, the house quotes return transport from stations, airports and Copenhagen, and offers a Fly & Dine arrival by helicopter with Copenhagen Helicopter.⁶ Parts of the outer wall are under restoration, with some noise from 09:00 on selected days.⁶

Discretion

Only overnight guests may use the castle's facilities; day visitors may walk in the park except when it is signed closed for a private event.⁶ Photo shoots are allowed only for guests holding their event at the castle.⁶ In a salon the dinner is served in private, away from the cellar dining room.³
