La Pergola

Why it is on the list

La Pergola was the first restaurant in Rome to win three Michelin stars and is still the only one.¹ It has held two stars since 2001 and three since 2005, all under Heinz Beck, who has run the kitchen since 1994.² It holds three stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide for Italy.³ The dining room looks out over the city and has been redesigned.¹ Chef Sommelier Marco Reitano keeps two wine lists, one international and one only Italian, with rarities such as the 1922 Château Lafite Rothschild and the 1945 Pétrus, and 34 Gaja Barbarescos on the Italian list.⁴

It is the wrong choice for an evening that starts in the old centre: the hotel shuttle from Via Bissolati, off Via Veneto, makes its last run at 18:30, so a dinner guest comes by car or taxi.⁵
