Why it is on the list

Geranium keeps one table apart from the rest: a high table with counter stools next to the fireplace, overlooking the restaurant, the park and the city, for up to four guests.1 Rasmus Kofoed's kitchen holds three Michelin stars in the 2026 guide.2 Kofoed won the Bocuse d'Or in 2011, and in 2016 Geranium became the first Danish restaurant with three stars.3

It is the wrong table for more than four, for anyone who wants a closed room, or for a guest who would rather not sit on a stool for a menu of three hours or more.1 For a party of up to 16 behind its own door, with the same menu, the Inspiration Kitchen at the same restaurant is the better choice.1

How to get it

The Fireplace Table is booked online through the restaurant's SevenRooms page, where it appears as its own 12:00 lunch time marked Fireplace, with three hours set aside;4 or call the booking team on +45 6996 0020, Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 to 15:00, closed on bank holidays, and ask for it by name.1 Tables open three months ahead; when a date is full, join the waiting list and the restaurant writes if a table comes free.5 A booking stands only once the deposit of DKK 1,500 a guest is paid and the confirmation email has arrived, and the number of guests booked is binding.5 Booked through the booking team, the deposit is paid by an emailed payment link that expires, and the booking is deleted if it is not paid in time; the deposit is taken off the final bill.6

The autumn menu, The Autumn Universe, is DKK 4,500 a guest and takes at least three hours.1 The wine pairings are Heart & Soil at DKK 2,500, Classic & Appellation at DKK 4,500, Big & Bold at DKK 8,500 and Rare & Unique at DKK 20,000; the non-alcoholic pairing, Fruit & Vegetables, is DKK 2,300 on the English page and DKK 2,500 on the Danish one, so confirm it with the booking team.17 The reservations page puts a fee on corporate cards and on private cards issued outside the EU; the booking terms add a card fee to every credit card, so ask which applies to yours.16 Lunch is served Thursday to Saturday, 12:00 to 15:30; dinner on Wednesday from 18:00 and Thursday to Saturday from 18:30.1 The whole booking can be cancelled up to 72 hours before, online, at info@geranium.dk or on +45 6996 0020; later than that the restaurant may keep the full deposit, and a guest dropped after confirmation forfeits that guest's deposit, which is then not set against the bill.6

Discretion

The table looks over the dining room rather than away from it, so the party is seen by the room as well as seated apart from it.1 For a room behind its own door, the restaurant offers the Inspiration Kitchen, for up to 16, for private dining and events.1 Whether the whole restaurant can be taken is not published: ask info@geranium.dk.
