Why it is on the list
Zén holds three Michelin stars in the 2026 guide, one of three restaurants in Singapore to do so, and has held three since September 2021.1 Björn Frantzén opened it in 2018 as the Singapore counterpart of Frantzén in Stockholm; he is the only chef to lead three restaurants with three Michelin stars at once.2 The cooking is a single set menu, Nordic at root with a Japanese touch, and the evening moves through three floors of a shophouse for 23 guests.2
It is the wrong table for a guest who needs a vegan menu, a menu free of milk protein or one safe for coeliac disease, which the kitchen does not prepare, and for anyone without three and a half hours to give it.2
How to get it
Tables for the coming month are released on the 1st of each month at 10 am Singapore time, through the booking form on the reservations page; the newsletter sends word when they open.23 For five to eight guests, write to reservations@restaurantzen.com or call +65 6534 8880.2
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. Lunch is SGD 450++ a guest, with extra courses available; dinner is a fixed menu at SGD 620++. Drinks pairings come with or without alcohol.2
Discretion
The whole restaurant is 23 seats spread over three floors, so no room holds a crowd.2 Parties of five to eight are arranged directly with the reservations team rather than through the online form.2
